Principal's Message 1/18/21

Greetings,

I hope you had an enjoyable Martin Luther King Weekend.  In case you were unable to view the showing of the 21st MLK Celebration I encourage you to do so. It is a reading of MLK’s I have a Dream speech presented by Stoneham community members and produced by students in Media Production.  https://youtu.be/1Dax9ZkQJH0

We return to school tomorrow in our new hybrid schedule.  As shared last week the schedule has two new significant changes:

Remote day of the hybrid schedule is now live synchronous teacher instruction and engagement.  Students on their remote cohort day attend class remotely for combined synchronous instruction and  learning with the in school cohort.

All scheduled classes end at 12:30pm / Lunch is not served / Lunch to go bags available

For further details please go here or see Principal’s Message in the Communication box below.

The change in schedule will increase student access to live instruction and teacher engagement from every other day to daily and for two days in a row for each class.  Afternoon extended periods are available for extra help by student or teacher request.

We are excited for this new schedule and the benefits for our students and their learning.  Below you will find the new daily hybrid schedule and adjusted SHS Daily School Calendar.  Please review the schedule, calendar and student expectations as highlighted below.

Finally, It is very exciting to return tomorrow, not only with a new schedule that will certainly benefit all students, but also a return to in person learning, Winter Sports and Clubs.  As we get back into the swing of things, completing 2nd Quarter and 1st Semester and extracurriculars please remember that it is these in person experiences that we are trying to provide and maintain.  By continuing to strictly follow COVID safety guidelines in school, at home and out in the community makes a difference.  Please continue to do your part.

Welcome back!  Here’s to a good week and successful start of our new hybrid schedule, Winter Sports and exciting club and extracurricular activity.
