May 16, 2021
Hello,
I hope you have had a good weekend. Tomorrow we begin another transition of this unprecedented year with a return to a full day academic schedule which includes both lunch and a dismissal time of 2:50. Our teachers and students have been through change and transition this past year.
Yes, there have been losses of missed events and activities as well as the benefits of daily in person learning, but there have also been gains and growth with essential skills. Students have gained new understanding of and an increase in their abilities with perseverance, flexibility, adaptability, organization, technology use and integration, time management, the importance of mindset and other coping skills when faced with adversity and challenge. I would argue that much of these gains are essential for their future success. That being said, I am confident that our students will continue to adapt well with this transition for a successful completion of the 2020-2021 school year.
This transition to a full day in school, may feel new given the circumstances, but it is something we have already experienced. Students please continue to exercise your patience and understanding as well as your diligence with wearing a mask at all times, except when eating, and to please maintain a social distance of 6 feet.
For our Seniors, this transition is a return to just how they started their high school career with a full school day. Have a great final week of school Class of 2021!
Here’s to a great week for all.
