Hello,

With the first full week under our belt and the learning process in full swing we look forward to welcoming parents and guardians to SHS for our Parent Back to School Night this Wednesday, 9/22, from 6:30 - 8:00pm.  Parents and guardians should print out, take a screenshot / picture or right down their students’ academic schedule.  Parents and guardians will follow their student’s academic schedule, meeting each course and teacher for their yearlong and Semester One classes.  Each class will meet for 10 minutes.  Please note that these meetings are for course information only with regard to curriculum and work expectations, grading and assessments, required materials and any major projects.  It is meant to support and empower your role with your students' learning.  This is not a format for individual student discussion or conference.  Parents or guardians with questions specifically related to their student should communicate directly with the teacher through email.

The evening will start promptly at 6:30 pm with each parent starting in their students' A block course.  As this evening is meant to replicate your students' daily experience, we will have a brief Evening Announcement to kick off the night just as Morning Announcements start the day at SHS.

Please plan accordingly for traffic and parking so as not to be marked tardy for your first period of Parent Back to School Night.

A reminder to parents and guardians of the Class of 2025 we are seeking a parent / guardian representative for the SHS School Council.  Please see below for further information for the selection process.  Deadline for applicants is Monday, 9/20/21.

Have a great week!

Community Mental Health Support / INTERFACE

·  Interface is a free service for Stoneham residents.

·  Anyone who needs an outpatient mental health referral can call the helpline and will be connected with a specialist who will take their contact information and insurance information.

o    Once they have all of this information, they go back to their database to find providers who take their insurance and have appointments available.

o    This can take around 3 weeks, usually it takes around 2 weeks.

o    Once a match is made, they reach back out to the resident with the provider information.

§  It is up to the resident needing appointments to reach out to the provider.

§  If the service does not work out, callers can call again, there is no limit on the number of calls that can be made.

·  This is not a crisis line, only a service for finding providers that match needs.
