October 30, 2022
Hello,
Certainly, a wonderful weekend of sun and mild temperatures as we conclude October and the last weekend before daylight savings time is ushered in next weekend bringing in darker nights and the inevitable colder weather of the winter months. Let’s enjoy this final week of projected warm temperatures and the remaining brighter evenings.
Also, to our students, please utilize your FLEX block opportunities this week to complete any missing work or any needed academic support prior to the close of the 1st Quarter this Friday.
Our Fall athletic teams completed their regular season of play last week and are awaiting MIAA Tournament schedules to be released early this week. It is sure to be a fun and exciting Tournament Season, Go Spartan’s. The past couple of weeks held Senior Nights activities for our Fall Sport Teams, Cheerleading, Fall Band and Chorus; Thank you Seniors for your commitment and for best representing SHS.
Have a great week!
Go Spartans!

Halloween @ SHS
SHS has had a nice “tradition” through the years with faculty and students participating in this seasonal celebration with fun and creative costumes. Please keep in mind the following if you are choosing to be in costume. A friendly reminder from SOAR and members of the SHS student body: The primary goals of school themed dress-up days are to celebrate Spartan pride and come together as a united, inclusive community. We ask students to be thoughtful and kind in their costume decisions for Monday. Costumes can be fun ways to engage with our community, but please do not wear anything that could be perceived as harmful or offensive to others. Also, face coverings or masks preventing identification are not permitted. Thank you Stoneham, and go Spartans!!! |
Attendance / School start time 8:15AM
We are seeking your assistance to help support a positive learning environment for all students and to help eliminate a consistent, if not growing morning attendance issue, specifically speaking, lateness / tardy, to school and the first period class which starts promptly at 8:15am. We kindly ask that all students and parents / caregivers review morning routines and travel patterns to ensure a morning drop off that allows for students to be in their classrooms and seats by 8:15AM. Classes start and the educational process begins at 8:15AM, when students arrive late to class they interrupt the learning process and the learning of their peers. Though this is not intentional it is not considerate or respectful to the planning of the teacher or for the students already in class. We thank you and appreciate your attention to this matter and supporting a positive and supportive learning environment for all SHS students. |
