Good evening,
Winter is certainly reminding us of its presence and that we still have a way to go. With that in mind I ask all drivers to be cautious, mindful and attentive to all posted and communicated parking and traffic routes, locations and expectations. Consistent patterns of traffic flow help provide a safe and efficient parking and traffic environment.
We start Semester Two and the second half of the school year tomorrow on Day 1. The mid-year is a good point for reflection on academic progress and to develop an action plan for any required adjustments to best support learning and success. Students are encouraged to speak with their class teacher and / or school counselor to help with any needed support.
It has been a fun and positive first half of the school year with many memorable moments in the classroom, stage, athletics and school activities. We look forward to another exciting Semester of student accomplishments and achievements.
Here’s to a positive and successful Semester. Go Spartans!
Best,
Mr. Lombardi

Library Lunch Guidelines
For the benefit of all SHS students and teachers, the school library should be a positive, relaxing, peaceful and relatively quiet space in our school. With that in mind the following lunch guidelines will be implemented: The library is open before school starting at 7:30AM and after school until 3:30pm. During the school day it is an open resource for students and for academic classes to reserve for full class access. If not closed due to a class reservation, students may access the Library during their lunch for a quiet alternative to the cafeteria with the following guidelines: · TEN minutes after the bell rings for lunch the library doors will be closed and no other student will be admitted. · Once in the library students are required to stay, unless to access the bathroom, for the full lunch. · There should be no more than 6 students sitting in groups and all students must be seated. · Voices should be kept to a respectful noise level · Chairs and tables must remain where they are placed unless Mrs. Connelly OKs a move. · If food is eaten in the library all trash must be thrown away and the tables wiped down. · Violation of these guidelines will result in students being asked to leave and return to the cafeteria. |

Student Parking / Winter driving / Student Drop Off & Pick Up
We have been lucky so far with winter weather, but we are New Englanders and we know that our luck will eventually run out with the winter weather we are accustomed to. With that in mind, here are important reminders to allow for safe and efficient parking and traffic. · Driving o Drivers please be extra cautious and aware and follow the posted and established parking and driving routes. Winter weather impacts road conditions and visibility and adhering to established routes and expectations will only help in maintaining an efficient and safe traffic process. · Student Drop Off & Pick Up o Please remember that student drop off and pick up is required in the designated Drop Off / Pick Up Area in the lower parking lot. The Drop Off / Pick Up Area consists of white lined marked space before and after the staircase. Please help with traffic flow by having your student exit or enter the car at any time your vehicle is stopped between the lines of the designated Drop Off / Pick Up Area. § Student drop off / pick up in the upper parking lot, closest to the school, is not a designated Drop Off / Pick Up Area and is only for those individuals who have a physical necessity. · Student Parking o Unfortunately we have reached our student parking capacity, there are no more available student parking spaces. At this time Student Parking is closed for any new drivers. o Non-registered drivers are not permitted to park on school grounds and any violators are subject to towing at the cost of the vehicle owner. |
